At ABC Animal Sanctuary, the past few months have been filled with heart‑warming journeys, new arrivals, and the wonderful support of our community. We’d love to share some of the highlights with you.
Hamish & Hogan: Off to Their Forever Home
Our two cheeky Shetland ponies, Hamish and Hogan, recently trotted off to their new forever home! While it’s always bittersweet to say goodbye, this one came with an extra sprinkle of joy — the boys have gone to live with Angela, who already adopted their old pal
Beverley the Shetland.

The reunion of this pony trio has been nothing short of magical. Angela has welcomed them with open arms, and we’re thrilled knowing they will spend their days together, loved and cherished.
Aeron & Martha: Two Gentle Goats Join the Family
We’ve also welcomed two beautiful goats, Aeron and Martha, after their previous owners reached out for help due to illness. Both goats were loved and wonderfully cared for in their old home, and although their family were sad to see them go, they found comfort knowing we could offer them a safe and happy future.

Aeron, a Golden Guernsey/Nubian cross, is a gentle soul who spends much of his time standing at the doorway of his enclosure, keeping a watchful eye on Martha.

Martha, a sweet Saanen goat, enjoys wandering around the enclosure and soaking up every bit of sun that she can find.
Both adore the attention of our volunteers - brushing, cuddles, and companionship are top of their list! They’ve even made new friends with their neighbours, Peggy and Bart, our wonderful pigs.
Meet Bobby: Our Charming New Pekin Duck
Another special new arrival is Bobby, a delightful Pekin duck born in 2020. After outliving his three wives, Bobby became very lonely, and we’re delighted to have been able to give him a new start.

He settled in quickly, making his first friend Priscilla, our tiny blind call duck. Before long, he bonded with Mork, one of our larger ducks - and now the two are inseparable! Bobby is full of character, loves his salad vegetables, and has become a treasured member of the flock here at Feathers Drive.
Charlie: A Happy Ending for a Very Special Cat

Another wonderful story we’re thrilled to share is about Charlie, our magnificent Norwegian Forest Cat. Charlie had been with us for quite some time, happily free roaming within our large enclosure and living life as a resident sanctuary cat. He was content, adored by volunteers - but we always hoped that one day his perfect person would come along.
That day finally arrived. Recently, Charlie went off to his forever home, where he is now living a life of pure luxury. Spoilt, pampered, and cared for like the king he is, Charlie has truly landed on his paws. We love a happy ending.
Looking Back: Our Amazing Open Weekend
Back in August - if you can think that far back! - we hosted an incredible open weekend. Thank you to everyone who attended, to all our stall holders, generous business sponsors, and our amazing volunteers. Your support helped us raise much‑needed funds to care for our animals.
With rising feed and hay costs this winter (hay is especially scarce), we truly appreciate every bit of support. We couldn’t do what we do without you.
