Charlie

We were asked to take in Charlie when he outgrew the small garden and kitchen where he was kept.

When he arrived it took him a while to get used to living with other ponies as he was used to his own company.

Charlie developed a stifle and pedal bone problem which our vet said is common in Shetlands. He went to the Royal Veterinary College near Hatfield to their top orthopaedic veterinary surgeon.

Unfortunately after extensive x-rays he discovered that Charlie also had a hip problem.  The surgeon did as much as he possibly could for little Charlie but his leg will never be one hundred per cent.  However, he is a happy little pony and is not hindered by his leg and walks and runs a lot better than he did.

Charlie shares his field with his good friend Gussie.
