Barry came to the sanctuary when a kind member of the public contacted us to tell us of his plight.
Barry belonged to an elderly couple who kept him tethered on public land and although he had grazing and water he did not have a shelter.
With his advancing years, it was feared that Barry would not make it through another winter if left outside. His owners agreed to sign him over to the sanctuary where he receives plenty of love, care and attention.
Barry has metabolic syndrome and is on medication daily. He loves his food and not a day goes by when the bowl isn’t licked clean.
He is a very cheeky, lovable little character and is adored by all the volunteers.
Barry and his friend Gussie share a field.
