Rhett and Sky were rescued from appalling conditions. Their owner (who also had 77 wild cats ), although wealthy, made no provision for the care of her animals. The ponies' field was full of the poisonous ragwort plant and their stable had a huge hole in the roof and was never mucked out. Originally there were three ponies but the eldest died shortly afterwards of Cushings' disease. Alexandra and Celia Hammond undertook a joint-rescue of all the creatures there. |
