Pip is tamed at last ! (February 18, 2010)For those of you who have read Pip's Diary about Pip the impossibly cocky dobermann pinscher puppy we have good news. We were reluctant to get one of the citronella collars we had heard about for behaviour correction as Pip's sister Boogie owned by our friends the Turners had been totally impervious to the one they had tried on her. However finally, in desperation one was bought, set and attached to his neck. It has worked a treat - I whistle first before setting off the blast and he has now stopped tormenting the pigs, barking at the goats and generally being a nuisance. At the first puff of air he desists and comes rushing over and sits beside me, tail between his legs. Now all it needs is the whistle and I have a beautifully obedient dog. I only wish we had tried it a year ago!
