Suzi and her 4 foot hair (June 23, 2009)It really is wonderful to have a team of such devoted volunteers. After the Open Day our thoughts are turning to more fund raising to keep the sanctuary going. Jo Bailey is organising a fund raising dinner at the Old Forge Restaurant in Storrington with its cordon bleu food. (we will shortly be announcing a date in September). Rebecca is organising a raffle the prizes to include a personal ride in a glider, lunch or dinner for two at the excellent Whites Restaurant in Steyning and a picnic for 4 with donkey or pony rides at the sanctuary with a full tour of the animals. Paul ,a new volunteer, is doing a sponsored walk and last but not least Suzi, our bird expert, is cutting off her hair- all four foot of it in return for donations for the sanctuary. Personally she is so pretty I think people should sponsor her to keep it! Anyway if any of you are interested in helping with any of these events please e mail us. We are also hoping to have a jazz evening at the sanctuary late August featuring my talented godson Simon Mulligan the well known international concert pianist with his amazing jazz trio. As soon as he lets me know when he will be over here we will finalise a date.
