Open Days' Update. (June 06, 2009)
All systems go. My particular friends Ed Stewart, Peter Egan, Kate O' Mara and Lorraine Chase have all agreed to attend our Open Days along with Franck LePrince (violin)and his musicians Graham Dudding (cello) and Patricia Bonelli (piano) with whom I did the Mantovani Concert earlier this year. I have also just heard from William Gaunt and he said that it is highly likely that he will come on the Sunday as his rehearsals at Glyndebourne are on the Saturday. Our 35 volunteers have all been brilliant and have persuaded friends to come along to amuse the children as well. Apart from meeting the obvious stars- the animals- our tiny mini-Shetlands, donkeys, young Vietnamese Pot-Bellied Pigs, Kune kune piglets, tame sheep, cats, birds etc, there will also be a clown, face painting, magnetic darts, a children's soft toy tombola, pocket money adoptions, and a drawing table with a prize for the best animal drawing and lots of things for the adults as well including refreshments.
The entrance - payable at our gate-is £4 for adults and £2 for children. The ABC friends'package at £10 a year includes entrance to the abc friends enclosure and a glass of champagne on the Open Days.
Parking will be in the carpark at St. Mary's Church West Chiltington (nearest) and the very large field opposite Haglands Lane on Smock Alley (also called Southlands Lane). There will be clear signs from there to the animal sanctuary at the bottom of Juggs Lane in West Chiltington. Click here to return to the News page
