Update on the Open Days (April 29, 2009)
A welcome addition to our fete is Franck LePrince with whom Ed Stewart and myself did the evening of "More Mantovani Music" at the Lighthouse Theatre Poole, Franck a most talented musician himself and a Chef d'Orchestre has kindly offered to bring along some of his top musician friends who will serenade us with their wonderful music in the open air. We are also having Derek ,our lovely vicar, who is offering to conduct a service for the animals on Sunday the 7th of June with all the animals in attendance. We hope to have some animal poetry as well which will be read by some of our celebrity actors. Peter Egan and William Gaunt,my co-star from the "Champions" cult TV Series, have also said they will attend- work permitting. William will be appearing at Glyndebourne but hopes to be able to get to us for the Sunday. We will keep you informed. Entrance tickets are £4 for an adult and £2 for a child. Unfortunately we cannot allow dogs -much as we love them- because our own animals are around and would not appreciate it.
On the animal front some of the gorgeous Persians -now fully recovered- have gone to really lovely new homes.Parting with them when we have worked so hard to get them better is always difficult as we become very fond of them. However there is more happiness than sadness when you know they have a wonderful new life ahead of them and finally a decent home to call their own. Click here to return to the News page
