Copy for Cost of a Coffee
Cost of a Coffee Club was borne out of an idea by volunteer Annette Gardner to raise funds on a regular basis for the animals at ABC. The idea involved getting as many people as possible to pay £2.50 – the price of a cup of coffee on a monthly basis.
Annette took the idea to ABC’s founder Alexandra Bastedo who loved it and connected Annette with another volunteer Gill Harris who was an expert in marketing . This combined well with Annette’s PR background and at the same time they wanted to hold regular events. So fellow volunteer Maggie Southwell became the third member of the fund-raising group. Maggie is great at running and hosting events, so much so that her quiz nights are now legendary! Gill designed the beautiful logo and creates amazing posters for the events whilst Annette set up and runs the website.
The Cost of a Coffee Club has gone from strength to strength, not only raising a regular monthly income but, to date, various events have raised enough to re-furbish the Orchard Cattery and to renovate the bird area.
Each event is well supported particularly by the other volunteers at ABC who keep the sanctuary going with the common purpose to support, love and re-home abandoned animals
